Cathfish House Restaurant
If you ever get to Bowling Green, Kentucky, take time to stop and eat at the Catfish House Restaurant. The meals are delicious and you get more than enough for your money. The atmosphere is nice and it is a good place to bring the whole family. Alcohol is not served at this restaurant, so please don't go there expecting it. You may choose from a variety of catfish. You can get whole catfish, catfish steaks with the bone, or boneless catfish steaks, and my favorite; cajun fried catfish fillets. There is also fried shrimp. If seafood isn't for you, you can also get chicken, or steaks. Child plates include one of the following: hamburger, chicken nuggets, fried shrimp, and grilled cheese. Each child plate comes with fries and a drink. You have a choice of sides, including baked potatoe, french fries, onion rings, and fried corn on the cob. Each meal comes with your choice of vinegar or creamy cole slaw. I think the creamy is the best. The servers bring out bowls of fried okra to munch on while you wait for your food. Once they bring your food, they bring the cole slaw out in bowls for the whole table and also bring a bowl of white beans out to enjoy with your meal. The okra and beans are offered at no extra charge. For the ones of you with big appetites, you can try the all you can eat whole fish, or fish steaks with or without bones. I am not sure why anyone would want fish with bones, but I guess they are offered for a reason. I got the all you can eat fillets once and could only eat two extra pieces after my original plate. With all the extra food that you get at no extra charge, I find it cheaper just to get the catfish dinners instead of the all you can eat meals. You will definately be satisfied. If you have room for dessert once your meal is done, they have a marvelous caramel pie. I never have room but my 7 year old does. I can't forget the staff here. They are very friendly and the service has always been top notch. They will joke around with the customers, sing happy birthday to you if requested, and never leave you waiting for refills. Stop by the Catfish House on Cumberland Trace Road in Bowling Green, KY, the next time you are in the area. You won't be disappointed in the quality of the food or the service. On your way out, fill out the anniversary form and in the month of your wedding anniversary they will send you a coupon for $10 off your next meal if used during that month. Happy dining. |
